Design, implementation, and evaluation of a PRECEDE-PROCEED model-based intervention for oral and dental health among primary school students of Rafsanjan city: a mixed method study

Abstract Background Oral and dental health has a significant impact on public as well the quality of life among individuals families. This study aims to design, implement, evaluate an intervention based PRECEDE-PROCEED model for oral primary school students in Rafsanjan city, Southern Iran. Methods According nature with focus group discussion interview methods, phases 1 4 (PRECEDE), predisposing, enabling, reinforcing factors related were identified. The training program was designed consisted six sessions (250 students) brushing session, three parents, two teachers. Process evaluation effect behavioral affecting evaluated (PROCEED). Results In qualitative section, seven predisposing factors, five enabling A found be effective increasing mean scores above constructs students’ behavior ( P < 0.001). Conclusion Based planning phases, children aged 6–12 years educational had improving children’s behavior.
